If Al Gore’s peace prize wasn’t enough to convince you, the frighteningly unseasonal heat should do the trick - we need to take better care of our environment. Why not start with your skin, our largest and most vulnerable organ in the ecosystem of our bodies.

Terralina is a company dedicated to these ideals - their packaging is 100% post consumer plastic and their products are all at least 98.85% natural (they do contain 3 preservatives - Potassium Sorbate, Ethyhexylglycerin and Phenoxyethanol). Formulated with natural, not synthetic ingredients - which it’s probably not a great idea for your skin to drink down in vast quantities - you’ll find ingredients derived from oats, chamomile, barley, olive and shea butter (to name a few) in their face and body lotions.

And of course that’s all great, but you need to know if these things are worth the money and time you spend slathering them on.

The Body Lotion has an extremely thick, dense consistency, and will take some convincing to work into your skin. But because of that very density, you’ll need very little of the product to get the job done. Though it didn’t make me feel quite as slick and smooth when compared to my generic, chemical choked stand-by when applied, I felt perfectly moisturized when I used it alone, and it may even have protected my skin against daily drying a bit better.

For me the Facial Moisturizer was a little too heavy, due no doubt to the same density of the product. Could be I just used too much. One the plus side, this lotion never even threatened to give me a break-out, as often can be the case with all the different products I audition.

Both lotions are paraben, alcohol, ethoxylate, glycol, acrylate, silicone, and mineral oil free.

Terralina is completely (and admirably) transparent about the ingredients they use. Go to www.terralina.com to se exactly what’s in there, or to purchase products. The body lotion is also available in fragrance-free or travel size. Face: $42 for 1.6 oz. Body: $28 for 8 fl. Oz. $8 travel size.
