Multi-media mover, shaker and visionary style maker Karl Giant is about to turn up the glam celebrating with a grand birthday bash at Splash when Mark Nelson presents the "F*Word" on Friday, Jan. 11 at 10pm. "I’m old enough to know better; young enough not to care," Giant expressed about his ageless aging, highly anticipating the festive event. You can bet the darkened dance floor will be turned into a visual feast, spotlighting some of the artist’s videos and famous photographs.

Giant carved out a niche for himself as a make-up artist in the biz. But it wasn’t long before the allure of the lens started to beckon to him. He would soon pick up a camera (circa 2002) and forever transform some of the biggest names in fashion. "Though I see myself as a full-time photographer," the self-taught visionary insists. "I’m more of an image maker."

He moved to NYC from Boston pursuing his dream of pop-music stardom before becoming a fashion icon. "I wanted to become Madonna," he revealed and now Giant is realizing his ambition of music stardom with the release of his new single "Pretty Ugly" - now available on iTunes.

Fashion Flares!

He’ll take to the stage on Friday night alongside hit-makers Jason Walker, who is still bathing in the afterglow of his show-stopping performance at Mike Ruiz’s XL birthday bash. You can expect some of Karl Giant’s other muses dance diva Ultra Naté and nightlife’s own Peppermint to also spread some additional stardust on stage performing their latest hits.

"I recently directed Peppermint’s video," for the the track "Let U Have It" - where he chose gorgeous female pop stars such as Janet Jackson to realize the look for Peppermint’s "cunty" track. "I’ve always got a narrative in mind, but I’m not here to make up your mind - I want the viewer to attach their own thing." Giant approaches each video project like a mini-movie. He’s created memorable works for The Ones, Cyndi Lauper and is the celebrity photographer for "The Tyra Banks Show."

As if making moving images, iconic photo stills, and music isn’t already enough, Karl Giant can also be seen amidst the drama of the reality show "Jerseylicious" and "Glam Fairy" on Style Network (check your local listings). Giant is turning heads and tuning his keen fashion eye on the ladies of the Garden State. Joining the casts of these series has led the artist to contribute to an upcoming book project based on the Style Network series. Stay tuned for more on "Glamour State." We’ll be following Giant’s future works closely.

Always on the cutting edge, Friday night at the "F*Word" Jan. 11 is going to be pushing the limits. You never know who of Karl Giant’s celebrity friends - his Rolodex alone sparkles - will be coming down and hitting the glittering red carpet.

Come celebrate decked out in your "funty" finest (that’s "fun" and "cunty" to the uninitiated) to drink a toast to the greatest glam fairy of them all Friday, Jan. 11 at 10pm at Splash when Mark Nelson presents F*Word’s Birthday Bash for Karl Giant. Performances will be by Ultra Naté, Jason Walker and Peppermint with a special live premiere of Giant performing his new single. Get ready to bathe in the light of a giant!
